Road to lifting the cup

Both Germany and Switzerland closing the group undefeated both teams set themselves up to be in the semi finals against Denmark and Great Britain. 

Germany faced off against Denmark first with a first period score of 5-1 and a second period score of 6-1 leaving Denmark fighting for 3rd place. 

Then we had Switzerland who faced off against Great Britain and with another high scoring game Switzerland shattered Great Britain's dreams of making the final today. 

By the time the final started the house was highly charged and ready to go, the atmosphere was electric and not a spare seat to be taken.  The German supports one side, the Swiss the other... everyone was ready for the ball to drop. 

Period 1 was not short of goals or penalties from either side, however Switzerland were in a comfortable position by the end with a 4 - 1 lead. 

Period 2 started just like the first with more action, more penalties and more goals... neither side backing down. Both teams wanting just as much as each other, however Switzerland edged further forward with a 3 - 1 period score taking the score 7 - 2.

Period 3 was a much more settled period with the game all but done and a 1 - 1 period score leaving the final result 8 - 3.
