IISHF Men Championship 2025

Road to lifting the cup

Switzerland won the 2025 IIHF European Men's Championships in Krefeld (Germany) by beating the defending champion Germany. The long-awaited match of the weekend did not disappoint. It was a game of intense action where the slightest mistake was punished instantly. Throughout the game, Switzerland was behind on the scoreboard before tying the game. That is, until Alexis Neukomm, assisted by his brother, finally gave Switzerland the lead, which it would not relinquish until the end of the game. The last goal will be scored in an empty net, with Germany giving it their all to get back into the game.

Germany and Switzerland won their semi-finals without much difficulty (Switzerland - Denmark: 16-1 / Germany - Great Britain 14-2).

However, Switzerland was trailing 1-0 after Mads Marker opened the scoring at 04:50. The Swiss team equalized at 07:36 and went on to score fourteen more goals.

Germany, meanwhile, came out strong in their semifinal against Great Britain, scoring nine goals in the first period. The second period was just as dominated by Germany, despite a combative Great Britain team that scored two goals at the end of the game.
