1.  IISHF Men European Championships 2026 sanctioned

The IISHF Presidium has sanctioned that SHC Rossemaison (Switzerland) approved by the Swiss Federation will host the IISHF Men European Championships 2026 in Rossemaison (Switzerland) on 18-20.09.2026. The Opening Ceremony (and any opening game) will take place on Thursday evening.

2.  IISHF Men European Cup 2026 sanctioned

The IISHF Presidium has sanctioned that IHC Biel/Bienne (Switzerland) approved by the Swiss Federation will host the IISHF Men European Cup 2026 in Biel/Bienne (Switzerland) on 18-21.06.2026. The Opening Ceremony (and any opening game) will take place either on Thursday or Friday evening.

3.  IHC Wolfurt Walkers hosting the Junior Masters Cup 2026

The Austrian club IHC Wolfurt Walkers are hosting the Junior Masters Cup 2025. The B-Event (Non-Title Event) will take place in Wolfurt (Austria) on the Whitsun weekend. The following dates are planned 23.05.2026 (U10+U13), 24.05.2026 (U13+U16) and 25.05.2026 (U16).

4.  IISHF Combined U19 European Championships 2026 and Women European Cup 2026 sanctioned

The Austrian Federation has delivered the official application for the combined IISHF Title Events for the U19 National Teams and Women club teams to take place in Ternitz (Austria) on (21-23.08.2026). The IISHF Presidium has now sanctioned both events. We are very pleased that both Title Events will take place and express our special gratitude to the Austrian Federation and the hosting club Eiswölfe Ternitz. Please note this will be a full 3 day event combining the U19 European Championships with 4-6 teams (Austria, Germany, Great Britain, Switzerland and hopefully 1 or 2 invited guest countries) together with the IISHF Women European Cup with 6 teams.

5.   IISHF Title Events 2026 – confirmed and sanctioned

After the official deadline of 15.11.2025 to apply for hosting of IISHF Title Events 2026 has passed. The IISHF Presidium has finally sanctioned the following IISHF Title Events 2026 and publish the updated listing of IISHF Title Events:

We are very glad to have this number of Title Events to take place in 2026 and thank all the hosting clubs for their willingness to host a title event.

Other Continental Cups 2026 and/or Continental Championships 2026 will not take place except the IISHF Title Events 2026 pending to be confirmed as mentioned below in the next point.

6.   IISHF Title Events 2026 – pending to be confirmed: IISHF U13 European Cup and IISHF Men Challenge Cup

The possible hosting of the IISHF U13 European Cup 2026 as well as the IISHF Men Challenge Cup 2026 is still under discussion with potential hosts from Switzerland and/or Germany. We will provide the final update a.s.a.p.

7.    Deadline for NMA team feedback 2025

According to § 18.1 IISHF Regulations each National Member Association (NMA) must inform the IISHF latest on the 15.12 of each year (official deadline according to §3.7 IISHF Regulations).

a)   for Club Teams in the age category of U13, U16, U19 the Team names, contact person, full team list (including gender, license number and birth year and contact address (e-mail) of the

-        National Champion

-        National Vice Champion (as possible Back-Up

-        Third Place Team (as possible Back-Up)

-        Fourth Place Team (as possible Back-Up)

-        Fifth Place Team (as possible Back-Up)

-        Any Host with Wild Card

b)  for Men and Women Club Teams the Team names, contact person and contact address (email) of the:

-        National Champion

-        National Vice Champion (as possible Back-Up)

-        Third Place Team (as possible Back-Up)

-        Fourth Place Team (as possible Back-Up)

-        Fifth Place Team (as possible Back-Up)

-        The five eligible teams for the Men Challenge Cup

• Defending European Cup Title Holder (only Men European Cup, Women European Cup and Veterans European Cup)
•          Any Host with Wild Card

c)   for the National Teams names, contact person and contact address (e-mail) of each national team.

National Member Associations not giving information according to article 18.1 a) and/or article

18.1 b) and/or article 18.1. c) IISHF Regulations until the deadline 15.12.2025 will get a fine according to article 3.7 IISHF Regulations and lose their right to take part with teams at the relevant European Cup 2026.

8.  Deadline to confirm participation in IISHF European Cups 2026

Regarding the IISHF European Cups (Club Teams) according to § 18.1 and § 18.3 IISHF Regulations, all Teams must confirm within three (3) weeks upon request by IISHF Communication Letter if they will officially take part. Each confirmation must be given and signed by the relevant National Member Association on the “IISHF Title Event Confirmation Sheet” provided by the IISHF – please find it attached to this Communication Letter. National Member Associations not returning the “IISHF Title Event Confirmation Sheet” or not giving the requested feedback within the 3-weeks deadline will get a fine for each missing team feedback according to § 3.7 IISHF Regulations and the relevant team also loses their right to take part at this European Cup 2026.

The need for feedback also applies for all National Vice Champions 2025, Defending Champions, Wild Card Teams, Host Teams and Backup Teams (a total of minimum 5 teams if fewer teams please report - that there is no extra team) who might qualify for 2026. Please ensure that the information about the participation 2026 of all your Club Teams will be given to IISHF (office@iishf.com).

Deadline for reply is then 21.12.2025. In the event of a National Champion declining the place, the place will in the first instance be offered to that National Member Associations Vice Champion if they do not already have a place.
