IISHF Men European Championships 2021, Selection of teams for IISHF European Cups 2021 (rescheduled from 2020 to 2021), Selection of teams for IISHF Veterans European Cup 2021.
1. IISHF Men European Championships 2021The IISHF Presidium hereby confirms that SHC Duisburg Ducks will host the Men European Championships 2021. The event will take place on 5-7.11.2021 in Duisburg (Germany) as sanctioned by the IISHF Presidium.If any team wants to cancel its participation in 2021 and wants to make use of the offered repayment for the cancelled IISHF Title Event 2020 their NMA has to notify the IISHF Presidium at latest by 22.09.2020. Any cancellation at a later point will follow the IISHF Regulations. The IISHF Men European Championships will again in 2021 be open for participants outside Europe.
2. Selection of teams for IISHF European Cups 2021 (rescheduled from 2020 to 2021)In regards to selection of teams for the IISHF European Cups for U13, U16, U19, Men and for IISHF Men Challenge Cup 2021 the following will apply:
U13 European Cup 2021 in Krefeld (Germany)For the U13 European Cup 2021 all teams from 2020 have confirmed their participation so there are no vacant places.
U16 European Cup 2021 in Kaarst (Germany)For the U16 European Cup 2021 three (3) teams have asked for repayment so there are 3 vacant places for this event.
U19 European Cup 2021 in Rossemaison (Switzerland)For the U19 European Cup 2021 one (1) team has asked for repayment so there is 1 vacant place for this event.
Men Challenge European Cup 2021 in Essen (Germany)For the Men Challenge Cup 2021 three (3) teams have asked for repayment so there are 3 vacant places for this event.
Men European Cup 2021 in Rossemaison (Switzerland)For the Men European Cup 2021 one (1) team has asked for repayment so there is 1 vacant place for this event.
As previously mentioned in the IISHF Communication Letters 2020-15 and 2020-16 the following will apply: In case of any vacant places at IISHF Title Events 2021 the selection will be done after the IISHF Regulations as per the ranking used originally for the selection for the relevant IISHF Title Event 2020.
Attached please find listing for all IISHF European Cups which was planned for 2020 and now rescheduled to take place in 2021 with a ranking of the order of distribution for any vacant places. Any back up team willing to take part must meet the requirements as given in §18.1.B IISHF Regulations.
IISHF shall hereby set 15.10.2020 as deadline for all NMA's to confirm if their back up teams are ready to take part in the respective IISHF Title Event. Back up teams that do not confirm participation in time via their NMA waive their participation rights for 2021.
IISHF kindly requests all NMA's to respond within the given deadline.
3. Selection of teams for IISHF Veteran European Cup 2021The selection of teams for the IISHF Veterans European Cup 2021 will be done according to § 18.1.B IISHF Regulations:Each National Member Association must inform the IISHF latest on the 15th of December of each year (official deadline according to article 3.7 IISHF Regulations).
b) for Men and Women Teams the Team names, contact person and contact address (e-mail) of the- National Champion- National Vice Champion (as possible Back-Up)- Third Place Team (as possible Back-Up)- Fourth Place Team (as possible Back-Up)- Fifth Place Team (as possible Back-Up)- the four eligible teams for the Men Challenge Cup- Defending European Cup Title Holder (only Men European Cup, Women European Cup and Veterans European Cup)- Any Host with Wild Card
According to the § 18.3 IISHF Regulations the following will apply:All Teams according to article 18.1 IISHF Regulations must confirm within three (3) weeks after the European Cup has been announced if they will officially take part. Each confirmation must be given and signed by the relevant National Member Association on the "IISHF Title Event Confirmation Sheet" which will be provided by the IISHF. National Member Associations not returning the "IISHF Title Event Confirmation Sheet" or not giving the requested feedback within the 3-weeks deadline will get a fine for each missing team feedback according to article 3.7 IISHF Regulations and the relevant team also loses their right to take part at this European Cup.
The IISHF Veterans European Cup 2021 will take place on 20-22.08.2021 in Rossemaison ( Switzerland). IISHF shall hereby set 15.12.2020 as deadline for all NMA?s to confirm if any of their teams are ready to take part in this IISHF Title Event if selected. IISHF will then publish the selected teams shortly after 15.12.2020 with a 3 weeks deadline for all NMA's to confirm if their teams will officially particpate at 2021 title events (if finally selected).
