Communication Letter 2022-22 provides important information on the IISHF 2023 Title Events including the seeding of teams. It also contains a call for new IISHF Officials as well as the annual NMA Reporting file to be returned to the IISHF by 15.01.2023.
1. IISHF U16 European Cup 2023 - Now with 10 teams
The IISHF Presidium has decided after consultation with the Swiss Federation that SHC Rossemaison (Switzerland) will host the IISHF U16 European Cup 2023 with now 10 teams rather than the previously announced 8 teams . The event will take place on 18-20 August 2023 in Rossemaison (Switerland) as sanctioned by the IISHF Presidium.
2. IISHF Men Challenge Cup 2023 - Now with 10 teams
The IISHF Presidium has also decided after consultation with the Swiss Federation that SHC Rolling Aventicum (Switzerland) will host the IISHF Men Challenge Cup 2023 with now 10 teams rather than the previously announced 8 teams. The event will take place on 16-18 June 2023 in Avenches (Switerland) as sanctioned by the IISHF Presidium.
3. IISHF Title Events 2023 - Selection for European Cups
Attached please find the final selection and ranking of the teams for the IISHF European Cups for IISHF Title Events 2023. The ranking and selection of teams for the IISHF European Cups has been done according to article 18.5 IISHF Regulations. According to article 18.3. IISHF Regulations all participating and listed teams have already officially confirmed their participation on the “IISHF Title Event Confirmation Sheet”.
We kindly ask all NMA’s to inform their teams about their participation and in addition to carefully check the selection list and inform IISHF if anything is not listed according to the input given to IISHF. 4. Teams willing to play Friday evening games for selected IISHF Title Events 2023
For all of the IISHF European Cup Title Events 2023 (except the IISHF Men European Cup - which is a 3 days event and the IISHF Women European Cup – which is an event for 8 teams) there is an option for teams to play games on the Opening Night at the 3 other IISHF European Cups with 10 participating teams (U13 EC, U16 EC and Men Challenge Cup).
It is not mandatory to play games Friday however if we can play 2 games or at least 1 game Friday evening then the length of all group games for a 10 team Title event can then be extended from 2x10 minutes to 2x12 minutes. IISHF has a preference for the hosting club to play on the Opening Night if the hosting club permits games Friday evening.
We need to get the response delivered from all the participating teams for the mentioned IISHF Title Events. The response should be delivered by the NMA’s. When responding the participating teams should reply if they are willing to play games on Friday (Yes or No) and if they are willing to play how early they would be able to play on Friday.

5. Candidates for new IISHF Officials
IISHF is seeking for 1 or 2 new interested IISHF Officials in function as Technical Director (TD) and Technical Assistant (TA). All countries are welcome to introduce new candidates but especially those countries that take active part in IISHF Title Events without currently having a TD or TA such as Austria and Switzerland are encouraged to apply.

6. Number of teams to be reported to IISHF - NMA reporting
We kindly remind all National Member Associations (NMAs) that the deadline to send us in reference to article §11.12 and §11.13 IISHF Constitution is until 15.01.2023 to IISHF headquarters

- How many inline skater hockey teams shall be registered in that country for the current year.
- A detailed team list for all age groups with the name of all registered clubs and teams for
the current year.
The current IISHF Constitution demands NMAs to submit the reporting until 15.01.2023 and this obligation must be followed. This reporting is basis for the AGM 2023 voting rights when starting the AGM.
Attached please find the Excel file: “IISHF Annual NMA Reporting Template 2022-2023” which should be used for the feedback. This template has been developed in accordance with the parameters approved at the IISHF AGM 2020 in Moscow. There are four (4) sheets in the Excel file: Summary, Data, Explanations and Backend. Please read first the sheet “Explanations”. The reporting is done by editing the work sheets “Data” and “Summary” and only in the cells that unlocked for editing. Certain tabulations are conducted automatically and the respective cells are, therefore, blocked for manual editing. The sheet “Backend” is not to be used in the reporting as such (it’s for internal use).
In addition to the mandatory reporting of clubs and teams by 15.01.2023 we would like to kindly ask you to provide the information requested on rinks, players, referees and officials.
