5. Concern about NMA statements after the AGM 2022
The IISHF Presidium strongly condems any form of negative and/or aggressive communication by its NMA directed against any other member of the international skater hockey community, be it during a meeting, a broadcast, a website or social media site. We demand a respectful communication within our community based on facts and that all its members respect positions on issues other than their own.
Furthermore, the IISHF Presidium will not tolerate any communication deliberately damaging the reputation of our beloved sport, the IISHF, its NMAs, etc. The communication by our Austria
Federation, ISHA on its Facebook page from 14.03.2022 that IISHF and its Members voted against a clean sport, and that the German Federation ISHD does not see any added value in IISHF signing the WADA Code does not represent the facts and is entirely incorrect.
The facts are the following:
- As per 7.6 IISHF Constitution and §8.29.1 - §8.29.3 Official IISHF Rule Book and §27.1 – §27.3 IISHF Regulations the IISHF and its members committed themselves to an active battle against the use of any illegal substances, known as doping, as per the valid World Anti- Doping Code.
- At the AGM the IISHF Development Officer, Maciej Postek, held a presentation in favour of IISHF becoming an official signatory of the WADA Anti-Doping Code.
- The presentation held had been published with the CL 2022-03 on the website of the IISHF 2 weeks prior to the AGM and is available for the wider public. It does not contain all organizational and financial effects for all NMA should the IISHF sign the WADA Code, nor was proposal on how to finance the signing of the WADA Code provided.
- At the AGM no decision was taken, e.g. neither was it decided that the WADA Code be signed, nor that it will not be signed in the Instead all NMAs exchanged on issues that may arise with its signing for them and the IISHF, e.g. financial and organizational aspects.
6. IISHF Working Groups 2022 to be established
At the AGM 2022 a number of topics were discussed including the creation of working groups for selected issues. As no decisions were officially taken at the AGM, the IISHF Presidium has decided in its meeting on 16.03.2022 to initiate the establishment of the following work groups (under the condition that sufficient and related member countries will join the Working group):
- Female Skaterhockey Development (reference point 5 IISHF Working Meeting AGM 2022).
- Infrastructure Guideline on skater hockey rinks (initiative from IISHF Vice President Poddubny).
The working groups will be reporting to the IISHF Presidium. All interested persons from clubs and NMAs are requested to contact IISHF at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.no later than 13.04.2022.
A working group for Sponsorship Regulations (reference point 9.2 IISHF Working Meeting AGM 2022) need not be created as the 2020 Work Group on Media & Livestreaming Development has already drafted a version. The IISHF Presidium will sent out this proposal to all NMAs within the next days for final commenting to be done until 31.05.2022. Thereafter the IISHF Presidium will enact the Sponsorship Regulations in accordance with § 29.4 of the IISHF Regulations.
