The new EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), IISHF Privacy Policy.
1. The new EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
On May 25, 2018 the new EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) enters into force. For that reason we would like to inform all NMA?s who are already registered to our IISHF Communication Letters and other interested parties about our responsible handling of personal data.
With our IISHF Communication Letters we usually give an overview about our activities. By registering for our newsletter, we process your first name, surname and e-mail address. Data is collected for the sole purpose of distributing the newsletter and is not shared with and/or transmitted to third-party organizations. Data will be retained until you revoke your consent. Following a revocation your data will be deleted immediately. You may revocate or deregister from the IISHF Communication Letters at anytime. If you wish to exercise your right to data information, correction, deletion, processing restriction, processing contradiction and transferability, please contact us via office@iishf.com.
For a description of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) please read for example the description on Wikipedia en.wikipedia.org/wiki/General_Data_Protection_Regulation. Of relevant points the following is relevant in this context:
1. A processor of personal data must clearly disclose what data is being collected and how, why it is being processed, how long it is being retained, and if it is being shared with any third-parties.
2. The regulation applies if the data controller (an organisation that collects data from EU residents), or processor (an organisation that processes data on behalf of a data controller like cloud service providers), or the data subject (person) is based in the EU. Under certain circumstances, the regulation also applies to organisations based outside the EU if they collect or process personal data of individuals located inside the EU.
3. According to the European Commission, personal data is any information relating to an individual, whether it relates to his or her private, professional or public life. It can be anything from a name, a home address, a photo, an email address, bank details, posts on social networking websites, medical information, or a computer's IP address.

2. IISHF Privacy Policy
IISHF see privacy as an important foundation for the organizing of the sport of skaterhockey internationally and have the following practices as given here May 2018 (updating of the practices will be announced when decided by the IISHF Presidium and/or at the IISHF AGM).
1. We collect only the necessary relevant data about players, teams, clubs, officials, NMA's and other contributors and provide a transparent view of the data we keep - and do not keep.
2. We only keep record of personal data for IISHF officials (Presidium, Committees and Officials/Referees) for the time that the persons are in duty in regards to IISHF.
3. In regards to the hosting of IISHF Title Events and Non Title Events personal data will only be collected on need to know basis consisting of first name, last name, e-mail address and phone number for contact persons for clubs, teams and for IISHF Officials. Those data will only be keept on record for the last 3 seasons.
4. For teams participating in IISHF Events the NMA's approves the ITC (travel document) and the players/officials only have to show their Passport and/or players passes as given in the IISHF Regulations/IISHF Tournament Rules.
5. The IISHF shall retain all rights associated with class A-events (IISHF Title Events).
6. IISHF will maintain rights to publish and keep records of game sheets, THF, results etc. for statistic and promotional purposes. No address or contact information of players, team and game officials will be published.
7. We are accountable to the NMA's and will each year at the IISHF AGM deliver a "data privacy report" for our handling of private data.
8. We don't share any personal data with any third parties not mentioned above.
