1. IISHF Officials Manager
The IISHF Presidium has appointed Dee Dalton as the IISHF Officials Manager representing the IISHF Technical Directors and Technical Staffs operating at the IISHF Title Events.

The IISHF Officials consists of IISHF Technical Directors and IISHF Technical Staff operating IISHF Title Events with duties before, during and after the events. The IISHF Officials Manager is nominated by the IISHF Presidium and will have the following duties in cooperation with and on behalf of the other IISHF Officials. The following points are covered:
=> Spokesperson for the IISHF officials (Technical Directors and Technical Staff).
=> Present proposals/modifications for any changes to IISHF Tournament Rules, IISHF Regulations and general procedures latest by December 1.
=> Develop job description for IISHF Technical Directors and IISHF Technical Staff.
=> Checking and updating IISHF Toolbox.
=> Checking IISHF Tournament Rules.
=> Checking IISHF Time Schedules.
=> Ensuring that the TD checklist (with duties before/after the event) is done and completed by a TD within the give time frame (deadline) as specified by the IISHF Presidium.
=> In cooperation with the IISHF Presidium.

2. Restriction for usage of players at the IISHF Veterans European Cup
According to §17.12 in the IISHF Regulations the following applies:

A player cannot play in the Veterans European Cup if he is also playing within another IISHF class A event within the same calendar year. Thus a player who shall play in the Veterans European Cup cannot play in another class A event in the same calendar year.

So a male player participating at the IISHF Veterans European Cup 2018 is not allowed to take part in the IISHF Men European Championships (November 2018) nor could he participate in the recent IISHF Men European Challenge Cup/Cup Winners Cup (May 2018) or the IISHF Men European Cup (June/July 2018).

3. Complaint about publication of players list in regards to GDPR regulations
IISHF has received a complaint from a National Member Association about the publication of the players list in the first version of the IISHF Communication Letter 2018-20 published on Thursday 19, 2018.

In respect to the GDPR regulations which came into effect on May 25, 2018 when someone complains that you are using material on your website (or other means of general communication) without proper authorization, you should immediately remove that material. Even if you believe the use is legal, remove the material while you investigate the claim and, if necessary talk to a lawyer.

The IISHF Presidium has now decided to remove/delete all the files published as attachments in the first version of the IISHF Communication Letter 2018-20 published on Thursday 19, 2018 and to publish a revised version of the IISHF Communication Letter on the IISHF website www.iishf.com and by a revised distribution of the IISHF Communication Letter 2018-20 by e-mail to all NMA?s receiving the IISHF Communication Letters.

So the IISHF Presidium has now removed/deleted the publication of the PDF files for each of the 5 countries (Austria, Denmark, Germany, Great Britain and Switzerland) with the listing of all the players who played in either the IISHF Men Challenge European Cup (May 2018 in Ternitz, Austria) or at the IISHF Men European Cup (June/July 2018 in Rossemaison, Switzerland).

In addition the IISHF Presidium has now removed/deleted the publication in the IISHF Communication Letter 2018-20 of the two Excel files which were taken from the statistics files already published on www.iishf.com from each of the IISHF Men Title Events so far in 2018.

4. Future handling for coverage of IISHF Title Events in regards to GDPR
The IISHF Presidium will in a coming IISHF Communication Letter publish our future procedure in regards to GDPR for the handling and publishing of game sheets, results, statistics, livestreaming, general news coverage and All Star team nominations for the remaining IISHF Title Events 2018.

5. General information about use of ITCs
The IISHF ITC Manager Daniel Taschner has provided the following information:

Mistakes in Player Names and Licences:
During the creation I've observed that we have a lot of mistakes in the ITC for example:

Wrong our double license number player:
IISHF Men Challenge Cup: L12345, John Doe
IISHF Men European Cup: L12345, James Doe

Misspellings of name:
IISHF Men Challenge Cup: L12345, John Doe
IISHF Men European Cup: L12345, Joon Doe

Since I set up a Data Base (according to the GDPR) with name and license numbers which allows me to check this accordingly, and if I see any discordance I will then reject the ITC and take contact with the NMA.
ITC usage in general:

It is also very important that you not use copy paste and delete Cells or Rows in ITC form since there are a lot of formulas to formatting them. I hope with this few important point that I was able to facilitate your work in the future.

On behalf of the IISHF Presidium
Erik Sommer (President)
