1. IISHF Title Events 2014
With the IISHF Communication Letter 2013-20 we already announced the hosting of the Men European Championships 2014 in Kaarst (Germany). With the IISHF Communication Letter 2013-18 we already announced the hosting of the U13 European Cup 2014 in Langenfeld (Germany). With this IISHF Communication Letter we are glad to announce the hosting of the
- Men European Cup 2014
- Men European Cup Winner 2014
- Women European Cup 2014
- U19 European Cup 2014
- U16 European Cup 2014

For the Junior European Championships 2014 please see the below comments.
There has been no application for the Old Boys European Cup 2014 and the Women European Championships 2014.

2. Men European Cup 2014
The IISHF Presidium has fixed the Men European Cup 2014 and it will again be hosted by SHC Rossemaison in Delémont (Switzerland) on 4 -6 July 2014.

3. Men European Cup Winner 2014
The IISHF Presidium has fixed the Men European Cup Winner 2014 and it will be hosted by Rostocker Nasenbären in Rostock (Germany) on 2-3 August 2014.

4. Women European Cup Winner 2014
The IISHF Presidium has fixed the Women European Cup 2014 and it will be hosted by SHC Rossemaison in Délémont (Switzerland) on 21-22 June 2014.

5. U19 European Cup Winner 2014
The IISHF Presidium has fixed the U19 European Cup 2014 and it will be hosted by SHC Givisiez in Givisiez (Switzerland) on 14-15 June 2014.

6. U16 European Cup 2014
The IISHF Presidium has fixed the U16 European Cup 2014 and it will be hosted by Wolfurt Walkers in Wolfurt (Austria) on 17-18 May 2014.

7. Junior European Championships 2014
There has been no formal application yet for hosting the Junior European Championships 2014 in September or October. The Skaterhockey Division of the Danish Rollerskating Association (DRsU) has offered to host the event in Rødovre (Denmark) on 25-26 October 2014 using the same pitch as used for the Men European Championships 2013. However the bid needs to be finally approved by DRsU and due to the Christmas Holidays this can first be completed within the first 8 days of January before a final decision can be made. If any other country wants to make a formal application this has to be done latest by 8 January 2014. A final decision about the Junior European Championships 2014 will be communicated until 15 January 2014.

8. IISHF Technical Committee Rules of the Game 2014/2015 Draft
Attached please find the 2014/2015 draft for the IISHF Rules of the Game as discussed and approved by the IISHF Technical Committee. The changes are highlighted and some descriptive comments are added:

The "changes are in blue" remark is used in the final document after the AGM. During the draft-phase we use the common color coding scheme:

- General: the Rules of the Game shall be valid for 2014 and 2015 which means that there shall be no major changes in 2015.
- 1.4.16: just a new definition to be able to differentiate between the respective areas on the pitch
- 4.1.2: "old boys" shall be renamed to "Veterans (Women/Men)" to stress the fact that women are allowed to play there as well
- 5.4.1 see 4.1.2
- 6.2.2 removal of a rather nonsensical rule; regulating the warm-up procedure is committed to the proper authorities for the game
- 7.2.3 required change because of some clarification added on how penalty shots and penalties during penalty shots shall be handled (see 7.12.8)
- 7.12.2 clarification on the prerequisites to take a penalty shot (one outfield player and one goalkeeper)
- 7.12.8 clarification on how penalties against the goalkeeper during a penalty shot shall be handled
- 7.14.2 clarification on how penalties will be called
- 8.5.1 allow an outfield player to pick up his goalkeeper's stick to return it to him
- 8.9.2 see 4.1.2 and additionally allow NMAs to make exemptions on the allowance to use fair body contact
- 8.10 change to the definition of a "breakaway"; it is no required that the ball has crossed the center line into the attacking zone instead of just having crossed the own goal area line.
- 8.10.5 c/d) added the same "breakaway"-rules for holding as we currently have vor tripping and hooking
- 8.10.7 d/e) added the same "breakaway"-rules for slashing as we currently have vor tripping and hooking
- 8.10.8 c/d) adjusted the definition of a "breakaway"-situation according to 8.10 introduction
- 8.10.9 c/d) adjusted the definition of a "breakaway"-situation according to 8.10 introduction
- 8.10.20 g) removed the necessity that a referee has to decide whether a deflected ball from an object that extends into the playing surface changed the overall game situation
- 8.23.2 clarification on the prerequisites to start a penalty shootout (having a goalkeeper in the goal)
- 8.23.5 clarification on how a penalty against a goalkeeper shall be handled during a penalty shot in a penalty shootout - additional restrictions to 7.12.8
- 8.23.6 clarification on how a penalty against an outfield player shall be handled during a penalty shot in a penalty shootout.
- 8.24.1 see 4.1.2
