SHC Essen from Germany won the European Cup for Men 2011 6-5 (1-2, 2-2, 2-1, 1-0) after extra time in a close and very dramatic final against Hallamshire Hornets from Great Britain on Sunday evening July 10, 2011 in Essen, Germany. The equalizing goal to 5-5 was scored by Danny Albrecht in powerplay with just 13 seconds to play of the ordinary time and the game winning goal for SHC Rockets Essen was scored by B.Hüsken assisted by Pierre Klein at 61:16.

As hosting club SHC Essen had received a wildcard to the tournament and as new European Cup winner they will now defend their title at next years Men European Cup wich will take place May 18-20, 2012 in Givisiez, Switzerland.

Final: SHC Essen, Germany vs Hallamshire Hornets, Great Britain: 6-5 (1-2, 2-2, 2-1, 1-0) after extra time.

Game for 3rd place: Vesterbro Starz, Denmark vs. TV Augsburg, Germany: 4-3 (1-1, 1-1, 0-0, 2-1) after extra time and penalty shootout.

Fair Play Cup won by London Street Warriors, Great Britain.

SHC Essen hosted the European Cup for Men which took place on July 8-10, 2011 in Essen, Germany. 12 teams from 7 countries were partipating. The defending European Cup Champion was HC Köln-West Rheinos from Germany who won the European Cup for Men 2010 in August 2010 in Rødovre, Denmark beating Vesterbro Starz from Denmark in last years final.
