1. Canada will not participate in the Men Open European Championship Team Canada has in the very last moment cancelled their participation at the upcoming Men Open European Championship 2011 September 9-11, 2011 in Stegersbach, Austria. This is very sad news and a big disaster for International Inline-Skaterhockey and our plans to expand the sport with new members in this case from North Amercia. The IISHF Presidium has made many attempts to ensure that Canada would come but with very short notice Team Canada decided due to financial constraints to cancel their participation.
According to the IISHF Regulations this non-participation will now have severe consequences for Canada. The IISHF Presidium will discuss this matter and the future IISHF Structure with the member countries at the EGM 2011 in Stegersbach.
We apologize for the inconvenience that this announcement will have for the participating teams and especially the difficulities that it has created for the hosting club Tigers Stegersbach.
